The Athlete Factory is a high level fitness & sports performance company. We use the knowledge of our highly qualified founders and coaches to deliver exceptional training in a world class facility, through our AF Training app and coaching.
We want to share our knowledge with all our clients from the total beginner to the elite athlete .
We want to transform the way you train so you get the results you desire.

Our founding coaches have worked with some of the world’s best sporting teams and individuals and have used that experience to develop a training methodology that can be used by anyone who is serious about their health, fitness and sport. Every coach at the Athlete Factory will be highly qualified, been through the AF methodology and guided by our leading coaches so all our members know they are getting the best quality knowledge, coaching and care.


The Athlete Factory is bringing the same philosophy we use with leading teams to the members of our facilities. That is coaching, attitude, support and programming that gets results, whether you are simply looking to improve your fitness or reach the elite level in your chosen field. Every member will have a training programme designed to their goals, which is built on the AF app so we can monitor, connect and track our members training. We build every programme through the methodology developed by our coaches and aligned to your goals.

Every coach at AF is highly qualified with a S&C degree or have worked with professional teams & individuals. There is simply not a better facility and collection of coaches in the UK.




Founder and Director Phil Greening has a wealth of experience in elite sport. As a player he represented England and the British & Irish Lions. As part of his Athlete Factory role he consults with the US Olympic Committee and USA Rugby. Phil’s experience in elite sports and the USA sporting environment helped create the Athlete Factory in 2014. Phil’s experience on the field is backed by a suite of qualifications including Combat Conditioning, Level 1 NLP, ASCA Level 2 accreditation in Strength & Conditioning and a Practical Sports Nutrition Certificate. An active member of UKSCA & NSCA (USA), he is now following his passion for nutrition by embarking on various courses in sports and plant based nutrition and a Professional Doctorate in Elite Performance.


Craig is a former Wasps, Wales, British & Irish Lions and World Rugby head of high performance. Craig is one of the most respected coaches the world-over with many strength and conditioning coaches seeking his mentorship; he has won a multitude of trophies and accolades with every team he has coached, a testament to his world-class methodology and coaching. Along with a premier reputation and qualifications in strength and conditioning, Craig also has high level accreditation’s in Yoga and a PhD in Nutrition. Craig will use that experience in his role as head of performance at the Athlete Factory, over seeing the programming and education at the facilities.


Ryan has worked with elite teams and athletes such as Warrington Wolves in Rugby League as Head S&C coach and more recently High Performance Manager for Georgia in rugby union. Ryan has consulted with many of the world’s leading rugby union 7’s and XV a side squads as well as rugby league teams around the world. He has also developed other professional and amateur athletes ranging from boxing to hockey and mentored and interned with some of the world’s leading coaches in human physical performance. He brings with him a BSc (Hons) Strength and Conditioning degree and an impressive sixteen years hands-on experience. He holds the world-renowned Westside Barbell Certification, a leading concept in National Football League and contemporary world class sport, with a showcase of accreditations in fitness, nutrition and strength and conditioning from – and not limited to – UKSCA, NSCA, NASM and Precision Nutrition.


Andrew Wood, or better known as Woody, has worked in the fitness industry for over a decade and is considered a top-level strength and conditioning coach having trained elite athletes around the globe.
Woody has worked with elite level athletes in their respected fields: including rugby, Muay Thai, boxing, K-1, MMA and bodybuilding; many of these winning significant competitions and highly acclaimed medals.

Recently he accompanied the Azerbaijan Olympic Wrestling Squad in Rio, helping them through their final preparations for the 2016 Games.
He has developed leading combat sports training programs, which have been utilised by some of the world’s most elite fighters having competed at the highest level in promotions including: UFC, Bellator, BAMMA, ONE FC, WSOF and Glory Kickboxing to name just a few.
Before switching to The Athlete Factory he was at the world renowned top MMA facility – Tiger Muay Thai and MMA in Phuket, Thailand.

Woody was the head of Strength and Conditioning, overseeing the fitness program and the sponsored athletes. This entailed preparing the athletes in all aspects of strength and conditioning for fights throughout the year.


Oli Jenner is a Sports Therapist with a special interest in Soft Tissue Treatment in particular Myofascial Release & The Anatomy Trains approach. Oli has a over a decade of experience treating a broad spectrum of athletes ranging from Professional Cycling teams to World Cup winning Rugby players, Olympic Gold Medal Rowers, Commonwealth Games Gold Medallists and Celebrities with huge demands on their time. He has always been passionate about Elite Sport and Human performance. Initially as an Ironman Triathlete where he represented Great Britain and raced internationally in Ironman Races & Ski Touring through to Coaching Triathlon, Cycling and Running. As well as Sports Massage and Soft Tissue Therapy for performance optimisation Oli offers a range of remedial treatment modalities to help ease any injuries you may be suffering from including Medical Acupuncture, Myofascial Release, Instrument Assisted Massage and Kinesio Taping Techniques. Oli with his background in Iron man is also running our Watt Bike classes offering his wealth of experience to the exciting, energetic classes.


Simon is an applied researcher from the University of Chester working in the sport science department and lecturing on the postgraduate course in strength and conditioning. He is lead strength and conditioning coach for British Dressage and has a wealth of experience with a range of individual athletes from sports such as football, tennis, swimming and rowing. He made a name for himself at Warrington Wolves rugby league working with the youth teams from U14s to U20s focussing on long term athletic development. Simon has a wealth of knowledge in Olympic lifting which adds to his incredible knowledge of S&C. He has a passion for seeking gains and especially maximising recovery and performance. Simon is currently looking to publish peer reviewed research on athlete monitoring and recovery using the Wattbike.


Jesse has a wealth of experience both in rugby as a player and coach and in education. He is perfect to head up the exciting and first of its kind – AF Academy.
Jesse played for Wasps and North Harbour and in the 1999 RWC for the USA Eagles. Post playing career Jesse went into education as a PE teacher before ending up at Harrow School as Director of Sport and Director for Rugby for a decade.
He is a professional RFU level 4 coach with over 15 years in coaching both youth and adult rugby. He has a passion and talent for spotting and developing players. This talent has seen him unearth some of Englands best players like the Billy Vunipola, Maro Itoje, Joe Simpson to name a few.
His passion and vision to help establish the AF Academy and its holistic approach to developing the person along side the athlete has been the driving force behind the creation of the Academy. Jesse has an degree in Physical Education & Education
MSc in Pedagogy
He is currently study PhD in Professional Studies
